Town End Farm offers Bed and Breakfast accommodation in the quaint village of Troutbeck. It is quietly situated at the southern end of the village with Windermere 3 miles to the south and Ambleside 3 miles to the north.

Town End Farm is a beautiful. well maintained working National Trust farm dating back to 1611. Views stretch down the valley towards Windermere and across the peaks to Yoke, III Bell, Frostwick and High Street.

Bedrooms

Town End Farm is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness with accommodation comprising of 1 Double Room and 1 Twin Room with shared bathroom and separate W.C. Guests are made to feel totally at home and relaxed in the peaceful and quiet surroundings of the farmhouse. The cottage-style decor and wood burning stove in the lounge add to the ambience. Tea and coffee making facilities are available. We regret that we cannot accommodate pets and we are a Non-smoking establishment. Open all year round.

After a hearty breakfast and tasting the homemade preserves you are ready to take on what the Lake District has to offer. Town End Farm is an ideal base for touring. You will also find plenty of local walks in the area with ever popular Wansfell nearby with its panoramic views. For those looking for a more of a challenge there is the Kentmere and High Street range. A scenic drive over Kirkstone Pass to Glennridding that offers Striding Edge and Swirral Edge to Helvellyn . Fishing can be found in the area and a number of routes for mountain biking.

Town End Farm is perfectely situated for a variety of things to do. Local attractions and amenties include the National Trust's ' Townend ' the home of the Browne Family for 300 years. In Bowness-on-Windermere you have The Windermere Beatrix Potter Attraction , Windermere Steamboats & Museum and of course the Lake Windermere Cruises . Ambleside is known for its Outdoor shops and here you will find the Armitt Museum . Close to Troutbeck is The National Trust Stagshaw Gardens and also Lake District Visitor Centre at Brockhole .

A variety of restaurants and pubs can be found in Windermere and Ambleside. In Troutbeck there are the The Mortal Man and the Queen's Head Hotels.
