An outstanding holiday retreat, offering bed and breakfast and self catering accommodation in the Lake District, Cumbria.

Near Bassenthwaite Lake, Cockermouth and Keswick, Threapland Moss is a lovely country House standing in 80 acres of woodland, with a 2 acre paddock and stabling for 2 horses. Our guests have use of a private luxury pool, sauna and spa by arrangement. The surrounding area is a birdwatchers paradise.

Be pampered in our delightful country home and enjoy a delicious breakfast. Idyllic woodland setting with views of the fells and a profusion of wildlife. Deer roam in the grounds. Absolute peace and tranquility, but not far from Bassenthwaite Lake, Keswick and Cockermouth.

Dining room with seating for 9, oak table and chairs,sofa,french windows leading to the garden where breakfast can be taken with beautiful views of the grounds.Oak beamed lounge with wood burning stove and luxurious leather sofas, Sky TV.DVD,piano and various musical instruments,french windows overlooking the garden.

Outside pleasant well kept patio garden to the rear leading directly to the 2 acre paddock with garden furniture.

2 large loose boxes with Fieldguard rubber stable matting. All weather menage, store room for bikes etc. Plenty of parking for boats, cars and horse trailers.

The Saplings is a delightful cottage located mid-way between Keswick and Cockermouth and set in eighty acres of beautiful woodland.

It enjoys uninterrupted views across the surrounding fields and fells, home to a profusion of wildlife. This high quality cottage, featuring beams and a stone fireplace, is ideal for those seeking a relaxing or active holiday in the North of the Lake District - fishing, horse riding, golf courses and water sports are all available nearby.

Within easy reach are Bassenthwaite Lake, pretty Crummock Water, Buttermere and the fells of Skiddaw and Grisedale Pike. Nearest Shop, Pub and Restaurant 2 miles. Supermarket 5 miles.

Accommodation:
Lounge/diner, fitted kitchen, 2 bedrooms - 1 double, 1 twin - bathroom with bath, overhead shower and toilet. Being on one level, The Saplings is suitable for disabled visitors (Please contact us to discuss your requirements).

Why leave your horse at home?
Threapland Moss is idylically situated on the edge of the National Park set in woodland with views of the fells.

Bring your own horse and explore the bridleways and byways of the Northern Lake District,attend local shows, have a day's hunting, ride on the beaches or do a spot of schooling in our outdoor arena.

Horse accommodation : use of stable, tackroom, paddock, outdoor school, £70 per week, or on a daily basis. Hard feed can be purchased for you. We are happy to provide maps of the bridleways and route planning, drop off and pick up in our double trailer should you wish to take a non-circular route. The holiday will be tailor made to your requirements.
At Threapland Moss we have:
Two large loose boxes, tack room, two small paddocks and ample parking
for your trailer or carriage.

If they coincide with your stay, why not visit one of the local Cumbrian agricultural shows or weekly showjumping competitions throughout the year.
