Richard & Sayfon Atkinson invite you to spend your holiday in the Lake District at 'Shemara'. Our aim is to make your stay with us as comfortable and relaxing as possible. Cleanliness and hospitality at 'Shemara' is second to none as shown by our Welcome Host Certificate.We are situated within a stones throw of the town centre with its restaurants, bars and shops and only ten minutes walk from Derwentwater 'Queen of the English Lakes'.Breakfast is served in our cosy dining room and ranges from Continental to full Cumbrian to kippers, or a vegetarian option, & we also offer a range of speciality tea, coffee and herbal drinks.
In the evenings the dining room is open for you to sample Sayfon's authentic

All of our bedrooms have views of the surrounding fells with the front facing rooms having views of the Borrowdale and Newlands fells and the rear facing rooms overlooking Skiddaw and Latrigg. We have private parking for 4 cars and a public car park is situated directly opposite the Guest House which is free overnight.
We are sure that once you have stayed at 'Shemara' you will return each time you visit the Lake District .
All our rooms are furnished to a very high standard with quality beds and furniture,
all have remote controlled colour t.v., CD clock radio, hairdryer, hospitality tray, controllable central heating and those little extras that make your stay special.
All of our rooms are ensuite but our superior rooms are larger than the standard ensuite rooms. All of the superior rooms have comfortable bedroom chairs and large colour T.V. and are situated on the first and second floor of the building. The standard ensuite rooms are situated on the top floor and whilst they are smaller than the superior rooms
they are not cramped.
