Welcome to Pea Top Farm

Situated in the quiet village of Culgaith in the Eden Valley, Pea Top Farm is a charming farmhouse offering bed and breakfast accommodation. We're just 7 miles from the historic market town of Penrith  and within easy reach of the Lake District, The Pennines and Yorkshire Dales.

Originally built in 1727, Pea Top was a working farm until around 1958 but now the only crops and livestock we look after are a small vegetable patch and 16 free-range chickens.

We have recently renovated one of the barns to create modern, cosy accommodation from just £25 per person per night. We have four comfortable en-suite rooms , one with disabled access facilities, a residents' lounge and dry room for storing walking boots and waterproof clothing. There is ample off road parking in the courtyard beside the entrance to the barn.

Our five acre field looks out across the open countryside beyond and the picture window on the landing outside the bedrooms provides fantastic views and spectacular sunsets that you can get lost in for hours.

Our rooms

At Pea Top Farm we have four centrally heated rooms, one double and three twins.
Each room has its own private bathroom, hair dryer, tea and coffee making facilities and colour television. They have been tastefully decorated in warm, neutral colours.

Room 1 Our double bedroom with en-suite facilities and walk-in curved-glass shower cubicle. This room is at the front of the barn and benefits from the views across the countryside beyond.
Room 2 A twin room with en-suite facilities, including a walk-in curved-glass shower cubicle.
Room 3 This large twin has en-suite facilities with bath and shower above. A cot is available on request, please advise us when making your booking.
Room 4 This twin room is on the ground floor. The accommodation and en-suite wet room have been specifically designed to provide easy access for those who find it difficult to climb stairs and for wheelchair users. The smallest width doorframe at Pea Top Farm is 28 inches or 700 mm wide and leads to the breakfast room.

Residents' lounge

This cosy room is a quiet space on the first floor where you can kick your shoes off, put your feet up and relax. This is where you can find out about tourist attractions and places to visit in the area. There is also a selection of books and games for you to enjoy during your stay.

Breakfast room

We usually serve breakfast from 7.30 to 9.30am in the main house, but can offer it a little earlier if required.  Start the day with a selection of cereals, fruit juice, full English breakfast and toast with tea or coffee. The eggs are laid by our own free-range chickens and the sausages, bacon and black pudding we use are all sourced from local suppliers.

Vegetarian breakfasts are available on request and we would be happy to accommodate any dietary requirements, just let us know when making your booking.

Tariff

Room rates start from £25.00pppn and discounts are available for block bookings. We require a £10 pppn deposit and confirmation in writing or by email to secure your booking. In the event of cancellation following your written confirmation, we will gladly refund your deposit if we are able to re-let the room prior to the arrival date.

We are happy to accept payment by either cash or cheque, if supported by a valid guarantee card. Unfortunately we are unable to accept credit cards. Rooms are available from 3pm on the day of arrival and should be vacated by 10.30am on the day of departure.

A cot and high chair are available on request and we will endeavour to cater for any dietary requirements whenever possible. Please let us know at the time of booking. We look forward to welcoming you to Pea Top Farm.
