Kingswood is a charming old house, situated on the quiet Old Lake Rd a two minute walk from Amblesides shops and restaurants and a ten minute stroll from Lake Windermere. David and Christine will make you welcome and do their best to make your stay enjoyable. From the time you pull into the car park, with views of the charming houses of Ambleside and Loughrigg Fell, until you leave you will be able to relax and unwind into a slower pace of life. There is off street parking for all guests and safe storage for bikes.
The house is tastefully modernised and furnished to a high standard, whilst retaining the character of a Lakeland home. It is fully central heated and there is a warm atmosphere throughout. Careful attention is paid to the decorative details that make the public areas so attractive.

( Wi-Fi) - The Bernsteins from Chicago were very impressed at being able to keep in contact with family at home.
Bedrooms The bedrooms at Kingswood are all of a good size, each is named after a local landmark or village. The rooms are beautifully furnished and each has its own en suite facilities.
T.V. DVD or Video, a well stocked hospitality tray, toiletries (should you need them) are all there, to ensure a comfortable stay with us.
Dining Room We serve the traditional ‘Full English Breakfast' using local bacon, sausage and free range eggs. Breakfast is grilled as opposed to frying for a healthier option. Also available are lighter and vegetarian options. Home made muesli and fresh seasonal fruit.
Bees David and Christine are bee keepers so honey from their own bees is available
for you to try on your toast. Provided the bees have made enough there may even be some available
for you to buy to take home. Special diets are catered for, please let us know .

We are open all year.
Bed & Breakfast from £29.00 to £39.00 depending on season and length of stay.
Special rates may apply for Bank Holidays and the Christmas / New Year season

Pay a deposit equivalent to your first nights stay.
Please note - if you cancel your deposit is only refundable if we re book your room.

The Vale of Rydal Sheepdog trials take place in August, go along and
see how intelligent sheep are ! Grasmere Sports are also in August, this has got to be worth a visit if only to see the wrestlers. !!
The Windermere Airshow normally takes place in July
