Crown Hotel Windermere Accommodation Lake District

The Crown Inn previously known as The Crown Hotel is situated in the heart of the English Lake District in the centre of the picturesque village of Coniston.
Only a short distance from the famous lake which Donald Campbell used for his water speed record with his jet boat Bluebird and only a short distance from the
beautiful Tarn Hows.
Coniston is the ideal base to visit the tremendous landscape of streams and mountains including the Coniston Old Man and surrounding Lake District.
We are also on the path of the Cumbrian Way and welcome all walkers.

This is the ideal setting where we can offer warm, comfortable accommodation at a reasonable cost in both summer and winter months.

At the Crown Inn , we now have twelve comfortable en suite bedrooms, consisting of double, twin, family and triple. Single rooms are available at quieter times.

All rooms have been completely refurbished to a very high standard, to ensure the comfort of all our guests. All rooms are with bath or shower and all are centrally heated. Each have quality mattresses for a good nights sleep, coffee and tea making facilities, hair dryers, direct dial telephones and satellite television.

Holiday Cottage to let (sleeps 2 - 5)

Holly Cottage is nearby which can be let on weekly bookings. It is a lovely detached whitewashed house, set near to open countryside with beautiful views of Coniston Old Man and the Fells. It is situated in a quiet close, only two minites walk to the Crown Inn and centre of the village.

Meals

Meals, snacks and beverages are served all day in the public lounge bar, or we can offer the same menu in the adjoining dining room for a quieter atmosphere.

Our chef takes pride in his home-cooked, well-presented food. Choose from an extensive menu including homemade pies, Cumberland sausage on mash and onion gravy or breast of chicken with a creamy stilton and bacon sauce. Daily specials are where he uses his flair and imagination.

Never leave without trying our ever popular sticky toffee pudding.

Functions

Birthdays, christenings, weddings, anniversaries... any occasion... we will help you to celebrate within a friendly, informal atmosphere.

The dining room seats approximately 50 people where you can dine in privacy from a choice of menus created to suit your requirements.

Live music is played in the bar on the first Friday of each month which can be an added bonus to your function at no extra cost. Alternatively, entertainment can be arranged for a small charge.

Flowers & Champagne

For special occasions or perhaps just as a treat, let us arrange a beautiful hand-tie of flowers sitting in water for you to enjoy during your stay.

A bottle of Champagne or sparkling white wine can be chilling in ice
awaiting your arrival to your room.

Langdale Country Club

We have membership to a local leisure centre where during your stay with us our guests can relax in the beauty salon, enjoy the views from the spa pool or take a swim in the large, heated swimming pool. See www.langdale.co.uk
