For Hotels on Windermere The Cranleigh is perfectly located just two minutes walk from the shores of Lake Windermere. It is situated just one minute's walk from the centre of Bowness on Windermere, where you will find a large selection of established restaurants, bars, shops and cafés etc.

This Lake District hotel is family run and under new ownership. The Cranleigh is unique for Bowness on Windermere. Stephen and Louise, the owners, have bought the Cranleigh with a vision to create a luxury cutting-edge guest house, with in-room facilities that rival the best hotels around. Our aim is to change the perception of traditional guest houses by creating a haven of style and comfort with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in the centre of the English Lake District.
Much care and effort has been spent on design, layout, decoration and furnishings on all new superior and luxury rooms not to mention their superb bathrooms. The lounge, dining and reception areas of the main building have also been refurbished using contemporary classic design as a theme throughout, with the finest quality fabrics and furnishing. It was very important in the initial design and layout to create a finish that complemented the Arts & Crafts design of this period property.
Standard, Luxury and Superior Rooms:

These have all been individually designed by a professional interior designer to create style and comfort whilst using the original features of the hotel. The finest materials, carpets, bedding and accessories etc. have been sourced and used thoughtfully to create an ambience of total comfort with unrivalled in-room facilities.
Bathrooms (Luxury and Superior only):
At the design stage, great thought was put into creating unique, memorable and comfortable bathrooms that allow you to relax after a hard day's walk, sightseeing or just to be able to indulge yourself! After much thought, we decided to use designer Villeroy & Boch ceramics and tiles. Our bathrooms are tiled throughout, with wall-hung basins and toilets, heated tiled floors, bathrobes, luxury tiles and accessories. Rooms with baths have air spa facilities and include 17 inch built-in mirrored TV's at the foot of each bath with dual fuel towel rails to dry your towels in the summer. Mood lighting is a feature in all shower enclosures.
Our bathrooms offer the perfect place for you to unwind and relax. Why not treat yourself to a bottle of our fabulous sparkling Prosecco at only £17.95 a bottle or even a bottle of champagne for the ultimate experience!
