The house is a typical Victorian building of Lakeland stone, modernised carefully to preserve its original character. Centrally located in Ambleside, Lake District accommodation here is nestled around some of the UKs finest scenery with Lakeland villages of Rydal, Grasmere, Elterwater and Skelwith Bridge just a short drive away.

Claremont House offers 5 comfortable bedrooms with ensuite facilities, 3 of which have been recently refurbished. Claremont House can also cater for families and groups, with two of our bedrooms suitable for families.

Each room benefits from double beds (with one room offering a king-size double bed), and ensuite toilet and shower facilities. Each cosy bedroom includes CD Radios, TV, small fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. Rooms at the back of the house have views towards Red Screes and Loughrigg Fell to tempt keen walkers!

A full cooked breakfast is available with vegetarian options on request. Cereals, toast, tea, coffee and fresh fruit juices complete the first meal of the day.

Claremont House don't serve an evening meal but there are a variety of places to eat in Ambleside. Zeffirelli's cinema, pizzeria and jazz club is a popular evening venue while Indian, Thai and more traditional menus are available in the town centre.

If you're visiting the Ambleside for a weekend hiking trip in the Lake District, what better way to start than with a good nights sleep and a full Lakeland breakfast at Claremont House? David and Kaye are keen walkers themselves and will happily suggest walks of all grades for guests unfamiliar with the area.

If you're looking for something a little less active, Claremont House is just a short walk from Waterhead and Lake Windermere where there are frequent
cruises on Lake Windermere to Bowness and Lakeside. For family activities in Ambleside, crazy golf and tennis courts are just down the road.

Nearby attractions in Ambleside include The Armitt museum, the
Homes of Football Museum and Hayes Garden World among the many climbing and outdoor shops, while just a short drive away, you can find the peaceful Lake District villages of Grasmere, Skelwith Bridge, Elterwater and Rydal.

Claremont House doesn't provide evening meals, but offers a Full Lakeland Breakfast using locally sourced produce where possible. Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement.
