The Brown Horse Inn, Winster , Cumbria, LA23 3NR
An original Lake District Country Inn, established around 1850, The Brown Horse was at that time, and still is, the focal point of the village life where every event of particular importance would be held.
Situated on the A5074 between Bowness on Windermere and Crosthwaite, in an idyllic position amidst the natural beauty of the Winster Valley, The Brown Horse Inn boasts lovely views of the surrounding countryside which can be enjoyed from all south facing rooms.

Well established with both residents and non-residents alike, our public bar offers a relaxed atmosphere with open log fires and oak beams, were you can enjoy various traditional hand-pulled ales from the region as well as a wide range of wines and spirits.
Our spacious, non-smoking restaurant provides customers with a comfortable dining room for up to 50 diners.
Breakfast, for residents only, is served around 8.30 - 9.30 am. Lunch is available between 11.00 and 2.30 pm with a wide choice of traditional and continental dishes, with bar meals served in the bar lounge area. We specialise in serving freshly-prepared dishes using locally produced meat.
In the evening, between 5.30 and 9.00 pm, we offer an 'A La Carte' candle-lit dinner to satisfy the most discerning of diners with a wide selection of dishes. Our 'specials blackboard' is updated daily.
