Fishing Local Waters

The lake district is a magically beautiful region of lakes and tarns, fells and high  peaks, just forty miles across in Cumbria and offers some tremendous fishing set amidst reed-fringed waters with breath-taking views of the highest peaks in England.

Species such as Brown Trout ,RainbowTrout , Ferox Lake Trout , Sea Trout,Salmon, Charr ,and Grayling inhabit Cumbrian waters giving the Lake District possibly the widest variety of game angling in the UK.

Most of the large Lakes such as Windermere hold wild Brown Trout and large  Ferox Lake Trout plus one of the most southerly populations of Charr in the country. There are many remote hill tarns full of smaller wild Brown Trout, finally there are large number of Rainbow Trout fisheries, ranging from heavily stocked waters,to pure sport fisheries.

Our permits allow two guests to fish any of the following Game fisheries   FREE : Ghyll Head, High Newton, Kentmere, Thirlmere, Dubbs Reservouir,Hayeswater, Moss Eccles Tarn, and High Arnside.

The lake district is one of the best areas for Pike fishing in the UK with several prime venues containing fish in excess of 30 pounds. The clear waters of the lakes are a lure anglers paradise   and unlike other areas of the country, the waters are still relatively quiet. There are several waters in the area that hold Carp up to 20 pounds and a few have specimens that break the 30 pound barrier. Local waters also hold plenty of Bream, Tench and Roach.

Our permits allow two guests to fish FREE the following Course fisheries: Atkinson Tarn, Blelham Tarn,Castle Head,Cleabarrow Tarn, Grassmere, Holehird, Rydal Water, Ratherheath Tarn and Windermere.

Walks

COCKSHOT POINT STROLL
A gentle picturesque stroll from Brooklands to the village via cockshot point. It gives a nice stretch to the legs whilst enjoying the most of the shore of Lake Windemere as this walk consists of strolling around a path right next to the lake. This is a great walk for dogs, as they can run around and also get a bit wet. Also easy for pushchairs as the pathway is easygoing.
