The cottage is traditionally constructed in stone and slate, each with its own garden and private parking. Decor is traditional, with rustic beams, full carpeting and comfortable furniture.
All items required under the Visit Britain Self Catering 3 star classification are included, such as colour television and VCR, electric cooker, microwave and refrigerator along with a full range of catering utensils. Barbeque sets and garden furniture are available for each cottage. A Bothy was where the unmarried male farm hands used to sleep. Things have improved since those days and this Bothy sleeps four in two separate bedrooms on the first floor. One has a double bed and the other twin beds. The ground floor consists of an open lounge/dining area with a fitted kitchen. There is an entrance hall with the shower room off.
On chillier evenings the wood burning stove is a very popular addition to the oil fired central heating, in fact many guests don't wait for the chillier evenings!

The lounge is fully furnished with two 2-seater settees and a rocking chair. The kitchen/dining area has everything you would need for a self catering break. (The local pubs do wonderful food and Wilf's Cafe in the village offers indulgent breakfasts, so you don't have to cook. Lucy's of Ambleside will even take your order and deliver great food to your door!)
The private garden is accessible through the french window from the lounge and faces south with spectacular views down the valley towards the county town of Kendal some 3 miles distant.
2 bedrooms on the first floor nestle beneath the beams accessed by very easy stairs across the centre of the cottage. The view from the master bedroom
makes for very pleasant long lie-ins.
There is a ground floor shower room/toilet off the entrance hall
Outside the door is a barbeque and garden chairs for guests use as well as an additional supply of logs for the stove.
Children and pets are welcome
