Welcome to Beechwood Guesthouse in the Heart of the Lake District.
Beechwood is a family run, superior bed and breakfast in Bowness in the Lake District and is a traditional Lakeland style 1900s house retaining many of its original features including a beautiful stained glass window which was designed by Scott Baillie (Blackwell House). Exterior floral displays enhance the building’s appearance and the guesthouse has been awarded several ‘Windermere In Bloom’ awards.

The accommodation is ideally suited for exploring the Lake District and there are excellent transport links. Beechwood is a mere 10 minute stroll from Lake Windermere and all local amenities such as shops, restaurants, bars and local attractions. You can travel by boat to Ambleside to the North or Lakeside to the South or take the island cruise around Windermere.

Beechwood B&B boasts an elegant lounge where you can relax after a day’s activities by simply reading, having a go at our jigsaw or just unwinding with a glass of wine in front of the fire.
Although Beechwood is not a licenced premisis, guests are more than welcome to bring their own alcoholic beverages and we are more than happy to furnish you with glasses, etc or, of course complimentary tea/coffee or juice.

On a sunny day some guests prefer to just sit and watch the world go by on our love seat at the front of the house or in the Rose Garden opposite which separates the guesthouse from the main road.

For those guests feeling a little more energetic we offer safe storage for bicycles and drying facilities for walking equipment on those not so sunny days.

Each room has complimentary tea/coffee (hot chocolate) making facilities, flat screen TV, DVD player, clock radio/CD player, hair dryer and ironing facilities. Complimentary toiletries can also be found in all our bathrooms which are all furnished with showers.

Our bedrooms all overlook the Rose Garden opposite and are individually decorated, each bed having the advantage of a luxury pocket sprung mattress to ensure a great night’s sleep.
