farmhouse dating back to Cromwell and the Civil
War. Situated close to the village of Grizebeck,
Beanthwaite boasts magnificent 200 degree panoramic views of the Duddon
Estuary, Furness Fells and the Coniston mountains.
The area is pretty much unspoilt, leisurely
and a welcoming option to the busier tourist towns which are closeby to visit whilst being
only a short distance drive away.Located on the main bus route.

West Cumbria. Beanthwaite
Farm is an ideal base for touring. You will also
find plenty of local walks in the area ranging
from woodland walks and fell walks. For those
looking for a more of a challenge there is the
Old
Man of Coniston to the North, or for the rock
climbers there is the impressive Dow Crag. There is also local fishing
and a number of routes
for cycling and mountain biking.
Beanthwaite Farm is also ideally based for visiting a a variety of attractions including the South
Lakes Animal Park near Dalton, Dalton
Castle, Furness Abbey, Grizedale
Forest, Muncaster
Castle and the Ravenglass
Railway [40 minutes drive away]. A visit to
Ulverston
on market day will charm you and with Ulverston
being the birthplace of Stan Laurel, discover
the Laurel
and Hardy Musuem. South Lakeland also has quaints townsand villages of Grange-over-Sands with
its views across Morecambe Bay, and the picturesque
Cartmell
. Don't forget to visit Holker
Hall, Gardens and Motor Museum.
Also worthwhile visiting in the central areas of the Lake
District, are Coniston and Coniston Water, Windermere and Ambleside. All are within a 30 minutes drive away.

and local inns can be found in the area.

By Car
- From the M6
motorway leave at Junction 36 along
the A590 towards Kendal. Take the next left
A590 for Barrow - Grange-over-Sands and
Newby Bridge. Take A5902 at Greenodd for
Broughton-in-Furness - Grizebeck and Broughton-in-Furness.
After Gawthwaite is Beanthwaite [Mileage
from Greenodd to Beanthwaite is 5.4miles
(8.7km) in total].Ulverston 15 Mins away.
From the north
of Beanthwaite, there are a various approaches
including the west coast route and others
through the central Lake District.
By Bus
