and set in 7.5 acres of natural beauty and open all
year. Wetheriggs Country Pottery is a place for all
the family where you can have 'pots of fun' in the studios
where you can create your own piece of work from painting
a pot, plate or throw your own.
You will find plenty of history in this
working pottery from 1855 and is now the only steamed
powered Country Pottery in the UK which has been fully
restored by Engineer, Steeplejack and TV Celebrity,
Fred Dibnah. In the museum discover the history and
traditions with early designs of slipware, dinnerware
and kitchenware, along with original tools and photographs
on view.
With Wetheriggs
being a traditional working pottery you will find demonstrations
from throwing to pot decoration, watch the potters at
work and discover how it is all done.
Wetheriggs
is not just pottery you will also find 2 children's
play area, various animals from rare breed pigs, piglets,
owls, lambs, goats and others. Watch the birds of prey
in action or take a look at the natural newt pond and
wildlife.
If you are feeling hungry and thirsty, in the country
cafe you will find freshly prepared food being served
along with snacks and drinks.
