Heron Corn Mill - Restored working 18th C water driven corn mill with 14ft overshot water wheel. Lowder type mill with four pairs of stones. All machinery driven by the waterwheel. Small auxillary water wheel drives a generator originally used to provide lighting for the mill. Hydro=power turbine being installed during Spring 2008. There will be limited access to the site during 2008 season. However, we will be open Tues-Friday and Bank Holiday weekends until August. There will be displays in the Mill (ground floor only) The displays feature working drawings, plans and feasibility studies for all site development. Come and talk to our volunteers and staff about the exciting new changes coming to later this year to Heron Corn Mill!
