Stagshaw
Garden is situated
close to Ambleside
on the A591 and offers fine views over Lake Windermere
from its eight [8] acres.
Within the woodland garden you will find a excellent
collection of shrubs that includes rhododendrons, azaleas,
camellias, magnolias, embothriums and and ericaceous
trees.
You will find steep slopes with one [1] valley having
a beck with a few small waterfalls on as it cascades
through the woodland.
The
gardens were created by the late Cubby Acland for the
National Trust until his retirement in 1973.
