Keswick
Launch is based on Derwent Water closed to Keswick.
With Borrowdale being to the south of Derwent Water
and crags on either side of the lake's southern half
and the numerous islands make's this lake a popular
place to come.
A popular way of exploring the area around the lake
is to use the launches which sail between the seven
[7] landing stages around Derwent Water. This allows
the passengers to get off and walk the footpaths through
the woods and visit the various viewing points.
One
of the popular landing stages is the Lodore on the South-Eastern
side for the spectacular Lodore Waterfalls.
Keswick Launches have an evening cruise that
lasts around one [1] hour in which information of the
area will be pointed out to you by a local guide. During
the sailing you will also be served a free glass of
wine or soft drink. These sailing's are from May Day
Bank Holiday to August 20th at 8.30pm & August 21st
to September 15th at 7.30pm.
There is a walkers special that departs Keswick at 9.45pm
for Hawse End for the popular walk of Catbells and beyond.
During December you can meet Father Christmas onboard
and the children will receive a present, please contact
or visit their Web site for more details.
It is advisable to
contact Keswick Launch prior to your visit if there
