Arts Centre
The Brewery Arts Centre is situated in Kendal
and offers all year round programs of theatre, music,
films, lectures and exhibitions in a multipurpose arts
complex. Within the complex you will also find a range
of community events, activities including art and craft
workshops, education work and classes.
The building used to be a former brewery hence the
name Brewery Arts Centre and date's back to the 16th
Century and also was Highgate's first licensed brewery
with the heyday's being in the 1930s. The Brewery Arts
Centre can be found in its own gardens, which date back
to the 18th century.
The development began in the 1970's as an Arts Centre
and now you will find different venues within the building
from The Theatre, Studio, The
Malt Room offering a wide range of music events,
The Warehouse Gallery offering exhibitions
by emerging national artists , Sugar Store Gallery
being a photography gallery and also two [2] cinema
screens can be found.
Food and drink can be found in the Green Room Restaurant
[nonsmoking] which serves morning coffee, lunches and
evening meals, with Vats Bar [smoking] offering a wide
range of beers, fine wines and spirits.
