CLIMBING - EQUIPMENT
- Chalk
Chalk
is basically magnesium carbonate powder and carried
in a small bag [pouch] and is attached to your waist
belt or the waist belt of your harness. The climber
uses the chalk to dry sweaty fingers, thus improving
their grip and climbing performance especially on harder
grades and where the holds are only small.
It
is recommended to use chalk balls instead of chalk blocks
or powder.
The chalk bag should have a good drawstring to prevent
spillage and lined with a fleece material as it makes
it easier to coat your fingers.
